THROAT CHAKRA- How to Connect & Balance

In my last Chakra post, Throat Chakra - Our Communication Centre, I wrote about what our Throat Chakra governs & what it looks like when it's unbalanced. Today, we cover different ways to bring this energy centre into balance.
When our Throat Chakra is balanced & harmonious -
We listen to our intuition & inner voice
Express our creativity & our will freely
Speak our truth
We are able to express ourselves - our joy, laughter, sadness, etc
We are honest & open about how we feel
We are able to communicate with ease, with clear confident speech & with a patient & calm voice
We show a sense of integrity & a sense of pride in what we say, believing that our words are worth listening to
We are good listeners to others
We feel free & willing to voice our opinions & stand up for ourselves when needed.

I know I would like to achieve that balance!
WAYS TO CONNECT TO & BALANCE YOUR THROAT CHAKRA -
CREATIVE EXPRESSION - Painting, Singing, Drama, Poetry, Writing, Reading out loud...Creating something new can improve the energy flow of this chakra and the vibrational sounds, from singing or spoken word, can help open the throat. They also assist with emotional expression.
HUMMING OR CHANTING - Again with vibrational sounds! It’s the Throat chakra’s element! Don’t worry too much about how it should sound, just allow the sound to come naturally & make it as strong as you can. But if you’re like me and need the ‘mechanics’, YouTube has ‘How To’ tutorials on chanting mantras. Another vibrational sound technique is screaming or laughing therapy.
AFFIRMATIONS - Spoken out loud with strong intent, affirmations & mantras can pack a punch. Try ‘I express myself with clarity & confidence’ or ‘I honour my inner voice’.
SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT - If you come across something in your life that doesn’t sit well with you, make the effort to speak up, write a letter or make a suggestion or take a positive action to create change.
MOVEMENT - Neck & shoulder rotations, yoga stretches, jaw exercises, massage, even yawning, can help clear the energy around your Throat chakra.

AWARENESS - Become aware of the words you use. Speak with compassion & love. Turn negative, or critical, speech around & consciously try to change it. This includes self-talk. Make a conscious effort to listen to others too, fully listen, without interruption.
ENERGETIC CORRESPONDENCES - Of course, there are the energetic correspondences that can assist - Colour frequency, Crystals, Plants/Herbs, Foods. Blues are a wonderful colour for the Throat chakra. Crystals such as Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli & Turquoise are amazing stones to assist us but as usual, do your research here. Especially, when working with plant allies. What works for one, won't always work for another.
